With a very nausea-filled first trimester of pregnancy coupled with homeschooling woes (we are so behind) and a toddler in the terrible twos going on thunderous threes...it was hard keeping a happy and cheerful disposition these last four months. I did not want to be touched, talked to, made to smell, hear, or taste anything, go anywhere or do anything that would require getting out of bed. Of course, I still did them, because I'm a MOM after all. But I really didn't want to.
I was grouchy. So grouchy that I had no inspiration to blog or talk to anyone in any social media platform. It was that bad.

But after all the negative moods that came with my first trimester, I felt really guilty towards my family - my children in particular. What kind of mom have I been lately?! A happy mom makes a happy home! Doesn't it?
And I want to see my kids happy.
So when I saw my friend Susi/BocaFrau post that she'd joined the #100HappyDays Challenge, I didn't hesitate to jump right in! I know that sometimes, in order for something to become the norm in your life, you must first make it a habit by doing it constantly, everyday without fail.
I think 100 days is a great start to making happiness into a habit into our lives, don't you think so? I certainly don't intend to stop after 100 days, but so far, this challenge is making me consciously think about looking for happy moments in my life, every day. And I think that is exactly what I need to get me out of this funk and bring the happiness level of my home back up again.
I'm only day 4, but being happy is starting to become a habit. I can feel it.

I invite you to the challenge and get happy with us, starting today!

*This is NOT a sponsored post. I just really wanted to spread some happiness today. ;)
So glad you are feeling better my friend!
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to be "there" for all the precious little ones, when you so badly don't feel able to even take care of your own self.
I love the idea of this challenge. I usually feel I will make everyone around my sick because I am generally a happy go lucky and quite silly person. I just always choose to see the funny side of things -- nothing feels better than a big belly laugh! LOL That can be a bit annoying to others -- like they actually asking me, "how can you be so happy all the time?"
Hey - I woke up! It's gonna be a great day. it's really that simple for me some days.
I never want to lose that.
That sounds like a very interesting challenge. I think I will have to try that!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds easy, but a little hard to do at first. You really have to stop and find the happy in every day!
ReplyDeleteSounds like my kinda gal! I'd love someone around who's always smiling and laughing. I was always like that. My laugh can be heard for miles! We'd be such a riot together! :D
ReplyDeleteJust wondering how this project is coming? I'm sure your kids love you, even when you're a grouch. It is always better to be happy, genuinely happy, but even forced happiness is better.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you on your journey.
Today will be Day 22! Thanks for asking!
