#TimeTravelTuesday: 3rd World Party

This was one of my birthdays.

Inside the second room of the to room apartment we lived in.

That's my cousins and me crammed into the room.

Yes, there were no sofas.  That was actually the bedroom.

It's about the size of an average American master bathroom.

The living/dining room is just about the same size too.

Still, everyone came.  From morning until evening.

Because Filipinos love parties.

Because Filipinos get together to celebrate other people they care about.

And because there's free food, camaraderie, and gossip.

I love third world parties.

Please join me for Time Travel Tuesday (& Almost Wordless Wednesday) link-up!  It’s sort of like Throwback Thursday or Flashback Friday, except it’s on Tuesdays and accompanies a post.

And I would sure appreciate if you linked back to me, but you don't have to.  Please spread the word, too!

  1. that's so amazing!!
and I thought our house was small!!! and I hardly ever have people over because it just seems like such a bay layout for entertaining -- but really, all that matters is that the people you love and care about are There.
Still trying to decide what pic to use myself. Do I go baby pic, or honeymoon pic?

  9. Funny thing was that, back then, it didn't feel like it was a squeeze. I guess it was just the norm that complaining for a bigger space didn't even come to mind. And yes, we were all happy!

  10. Birthdays were always my favorite because everyone of my cousins always came! The more the merrier - doesn't matter if we were a bunch of sardines!
