I don't have many decorations up in my house, but the ones that are there are mostly due to my husband. He's got a very good eye when it comes to decorating. (Shocking, I know.)
If it was up to me, nothing would match and my pack rat tendencies would become bare for all to laugh at.
Lucky for me, my husband's always there to balance my need to display everything.
One of my favorites is a super-sized cross we found at a vintage store. (Yes, be bargained for that too.)
It's not so much that he bought the thing that made me happy. It's the place that he put it.
Waaaaaayyyy UP there!
You see, my husband is brave, but a bit acrophobic.
So, imagine him on a very tall ladder, balancing himself, screws, a power driver, AND a super-sized cross...all because that's where I wanted it.
I LOVE looking at this cross. It reminds me of what my husband would go through just for me.
And this makes me HAPPY.

That's a great cross! Stunning. I had to chuckle a bit at the story of your husband climbing the ladder, even though he might not want to. My Hub takes care of bugs for me - even though he really doesn't like them much himself. Those are the great ways to say "I love you" if you ask me!
ReplyDeleteit's beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI have one like this too -- actually, one in the house and one on my garden fence.
Although since my hubby is a bit over 6 feet tall, he rarely needs a ladder. I AM the one who always needs a ladder! LOL
and the couch moved on a more than a few occasions. Honestly, I just like to give him opportunities to flex his muscles. ;)
I wouldn't be climbing on any ladders either. I actually watched my mom fall off one while painting the walls in my home and now they just terrify me. The cross is perfect! So intricate!
ReplyDeleteI always say it's the little things that make you happy! The cross is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely true. And how brave of your hubs to take on the bugs! ;)
ReplyDeleteA wife's gotta do, what a wife's gotta do - to see them muscles!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI would have that image in memory forever too. Safer not to climb ladders at all, anyway. Right?
ReplyDeleteLittle things are some of the most precious things!
ReplyDeleteThe things we do for love! I do, too.
ReplyDeleteBrave are the men who go to great heights to please their wives! ;)
